Where the hell did the figure of 55% as the percentage of votes needed against the government to force a dissolution come from? Why not 54% or 56%? This is a terrifying attempt by the Coalition to embalm itself in power until 2015.
Perhaps they would say that the challenges Britain faces are so great, and they are so necessary to resolve them, that we need this measure to prevent the government from falling.
What, the situation today is worse than it was in 1940? Or the mid-1970's? I don't see any foreign dictators waiting to take advantage of our divisions, just an economic mess that needs calm, sensible management.
55% is tyranny, there is no other word for it.
